Which Way Will They Go?
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 10:47 PM
With Republicans winning gubernatorial races in both New Jersey and Virginia, it's clear that a number of Dems may be in serious trouble in next year's elections.  And so a moment of decision has arrived for the Washington Democrats who have been heedlessly leading their representatives off a far-left cliff.

Will they trim their sails so as to avoid an electoral debacle next year -- or, realizing that they may well be in serious political trouble no matter what they do, will they simply run harder and faster to encode as much of the left-wing wish list as possible into law before it becomes more difficult after 2010?

Don't worry GOP still has plenty of time
..... to blow it! That's what we do!

Under the brilliant leadership of Michael Steele, the GOP will line up squishy middle of the road rino's to oppose the j@ckass seats! Scazzofava will look like a rock rib!

Ever notice how bold and brave Republicans get when they are out of power..... and how they roll over to unethical compromise when they actually have the power to do something!

Don't get me wrong. I am happy about the decisive gubernatorial sweep. Corzine has always been a weasel and a puss ball.... Still I don't hold out a lot of hope for the Republicans to fix ...anything!

wrong, my friend. that is the exact wrong lesson. you wish, though...

what happened tonight is that local Republicans can win local races, particularly when running against weak or wounded Democratic candidates.

At the national level, though, Republicans are deeply unpopular. Congressional Dems have nothing to learn from VA and NJ, but everything to learn from NY-23--a Republican district since William Seward, for Chrissakes. In that district, the race was national--the issue was Washington DC. That formerly Republican district looked at the face of the modern Republican party and said, "um, no thanks."

They voted against your party's obstructionism. They voted against your sitdown strike. And if national Dems play ball with you, they are going to be tainted with the same stink.

THAT is the lesson of tonight. Now, let's pass that long overdue healthcare initiative

Arch says

Now you are just being a simpleton fool or cannot you help it? Sorry if so but you have just witnessed the weakness of your agenda and do not possess the mental stability to realize it as evidenced here.
You twenty percenters are being rejected big time as your sick and pathetic attack against human freedom and liberty is being exposed to all voters. NY 23 is just a symbol of weakness for your socialism wishes. 2010 will prove your ignorance so we just have to wait and see!

Poll workers...
should be chosen randomly from the jury pool. During election week, Monday, enough Jurors should be called to cover all polling places, and be trained Monday, assigned a polling place, & report to a Deputy or Bailiff assigned to each polling place as Sgt-at-Arms to maintain order, prevent voter intimidation, disenfranchisement, or fraud -Tuesday 6AM for duty. Maybe this would prevent missing ballots found at the last moment to cause doubt in the election process, if this voter fraud, recounts, etc. continues citizen confidence of impartial and secret ballots will wither & Kos will result. Also, absentee ballots (except for military overseas should be abolished) if a citizen can't plan to be personally at the poll the 2nd Tues of June-Aug/Nov then they should not Vote.

They'll Dig In - It's the Chicago Way!
Obama's denial that he won't be watching the races is like saying he was not watching/listening to the Olympic committee's decision in the FIRST round when he was told 'NO YOU CAN'T'.

Now Obama knows that he has exactly ONE YEAR to muscle the democrats into the public option/consumer option/competitive option/whatever new name they have for it BEFORE he loses his 60 Votes in the Senate and House majority.

Right about now, Emmanuel is making calls to 'black mail' I means encourage house democrats and senators to tow the line. He has all their 'secrets' lined up and so the members have to decide whether to vote against the Chicago Machine and get embarassed in public (like Sanford in SC) or vote for the President's Agenda and HOPE for mercy from the voters in 2010. Either way they are scrWWWWWed.

VOTE THEM OUT, ONE ELECTION AT A TIME.

Reid is pretty much an idiot if he
thinks Nevada will re elect him in 2010 so he will most likely keep trying to implement Obamacare and cap and tax and just kiss is sorry @ss political career goodbye.

Obama is no Clinton so he can't move to the center. His whole life has centered around far left politics and policies. Everyone of his closest advisers and staff are hard core leftist who see the next 12 months as their only chance to remake America into their leftist nightmare.

Screw the results full speed ahead will be their motto.

The Obama WH will simply state that the results in VA and NJ mean nothing and blue dogs better get behind the prez as Obama's personal popularity is all that save their sorry rears.

Gotta go with Rush
They'll go ballz-out. Pelosi, Soetoro, Frank, the Congressional Black Causus, and the other radical leftists who are dictating live in safe districts or are in no political danger next year.

They don't care about "Blue Dogs".

A war within the Democrat Party is looming.

Btw, notice the absence of Leftists on TH right now.
Jim writes: Tuesday, November, 03, 2009 11:07 PM
every man (or woman) for themselves
the real question now becomes can they muster the votes. blue dogs will look at these results and realise that O's voters won't come out to support them, and thats defeat in 2010 if they follow reid and pelosi over the cliff. they may try to work with republicans to get something on their resumes. looks like fun watching the dems devour each other for the next year.
enemaofthestatistquo writes: Tuesday, November, 03, 2009 11:03 PM
Don't worry...
there'll be an Crisis to bail out the Dems, perhaps, that is the purpose for the 5X increased request this election for adsentee ballots, The Dems will probably accuse GOP of election fraud. My paternal grandparents lived in a Dem district and died in the 1990's, though I'm am sure they are Still, I'm am pretty sure they Still vote.
